The JWD stigma about being "nice"
by changeling ini'm back from a little jwd break and i'm happy to see that things are not as volatile as when i left.
however, some things never change.
and one thing that seems to be a constant around here is the mentality of some very intelligent and knowledgeble ones (in their own minds at least) that if you are "nice" you are some how emotionally needy and/or not too bright.. i don't think the "happy people" on the board have anything against people with high iq's.

I forced myself to believe it. I did believe it against my own wishes. I hated every minute of it, though. Just hated it. It was the one true religion and I didn't want to die. I evaluated my motives over and over again and they came up selfish every time. I wanted others to respect me and I wanted to be popular. I pioneered for popularity and socializing. I never did anything for Jehovah. I tried to but just couldn't get my heart into it. I did view other non-JW's as failing God and I did want to save them, but I did it so I could live forever. It was never for a altruistic reason, ever.

Is the WT banning vasectomies?
by B_Deserter ini talked to a dub friend of mine who said they had a new "it's a personal choice, but jehovah will kill you if you do it" article about vasectomies.
basically, the reasoning is supposedly that since jehovah gave us our reproductive organs, tampering with them is wrong if not medically necessary.

Why does BETHEL NOT ALLOW district and circuit overseers to get-together.
by yesidid insome time ago a district overseer i know decided to have a social gathering of the do and co's.
after a district convention.
when bethel found about it, the do was told to, and did cancel it immediately.. i have often wondered why they don't want the do's and co's to socialise.. what do you think?.
